GASP + SWOON

This look + this room are giving me serious heart palpitations...

The fresh white paired with soft apricot and a high contrast touch of black... I'm done for. I'll take both please... Santa do you hear me?

CITRON (AND ON, AND ON...)

So, I know I've blogged about my love for citron yellow a couple of times now, but just because fall has arrived doesn't mean my color obsession has been put to rest.

Chris Benz is hands down one of my favorite designers for his use of color (have you seen his Spring collection yet? amazing.), so I often return to his shows for a little inspiration, and sure enough he delivered just what I was looking for...



Feminine charm, big hair and a punch of color on nude neutrals (from his last resort collection). Chris always makes a big statement, but keeps it refined and beautiful at the same time, just like these interiors. I think it's a palette that can easily work into any season, but I especially love it for fall with a warm bronze + browns.

While I was looking, I ran into these beauties too...

Which had me thinking... with this addition of a super contrasting black, wouldn't this make a fantastic alternative palette for Halloween? I think so!

PERFECT PALETTES: SWEET SEPTEMBER

I always find it funny when my posts for the week are so complimentary of each other... I think you'll recognize some hues from these palettes, which can only mean that they truly are fabulous... right?

Rich chocolate calms the intensity of ruby red and the cool taupe adds a cozy but light feel. Perfect for classically tailored rooms and ensembles!

I'm adoring the richness of bronze for fall - paired with an unexpected coral is stays current and fresh!

Mmmm, very berry, don't you think? The saturated plum and teal gets a little lift with a rich cream! Especially loving this combo for inspired tabletops right now too!

PATTERN PLAY

A year or two ago I never would have thought of mixing florals into my ethnic prints and stripes, but now? The use of florals in fashion has made me more comfortable with the ultra-feminine print, and I love how these looks are translating into rooms...

I also love how they used the home textiles in the shoot to emphasize that layering effect, even though the looks themselves are mostly florals.

ROOMS FROM THE RUNWAY: MALENE BERGER

It has been quite some time since I've felt so inclined to put together a little Rooms from the Runway post, but when I saw Malene Berger's latest collection, I knew it was perfect summer to fall inspiration for some beautiful rooms (new + old) that I've been wanting to post!

I absolutely love the boho-glam vibe found in Malene's designs and have lately been drawn to initiating this style in my own space with the addition of Indienne prints and a few more layers of ethnic patterns while still keeping things fresh and uncluttered ... with  just a touch of glamour of course!

It's been so long since I've done a Rooms from the Runway post on coco+kelley, but thanks to a little guest blogging request over at SALE.com, I've created some lovely little matchups inspired by the muted colors of Julian Louie's Fall RTW show... including this one!

Pink + Pattern (And A Little Retro Fab)

I've been staring at this spring runway look from Milly for what feels like months, just waiting for the time to put together some fun, girly room inspiration!
I love the quirky palette of high contrast pink and black with a touch of that retro gold! But the pattern of the ensemble is what really makes it even more fun. Grab granny's couch, pair it with some flamestitch pillows, throw a fantastic rug under foot, and you've got a winner my dears.

Rooms from the Runway: The Benz Edition

As I was working on my Rooms from the Runway feature for LoftLife yesterday (where I blog every Tuesday!) I came up with more than one pairing using some gorgeous looks from the talented Chris Benz' Fall 09 collection, so I thought I'd share a few with you all as well!
I love this amazing structural dress... in a vibrant shade of green, no less! The simplicity of the piece showcases Benz' craftsmanship and shape so well. Just like the home of Herve Van der Straeten captured by Simon Watson. Perfectly placed pieces and minimal clutter so the focus is on the lines. So fresh and refined.

But, as most of you probably know, it's really Chris' passion for color that he's known for...
So finding a designer brave enough to take inspiration from his runway looks is rare! Tobi Fairley captures the yellow and blue combo perfectly by mixing in some great pattern, and the home of the talented Lee Kleinhelter features a loud yellow and white mix that is quite daring. Do you think you could take these colors into your own home?

Coco+Kelley On LoftLife!

For all you Rooms from the Runway lovers, I've got a very big announcement! If you've been missing your weekly dose of one of my favorite features, you're in luck. A few weeks ago I was asked by LoftLife magazine to become a contributor to their fantastic website, and I was thrilled about the idea of this partnership. From now on I'll be featuring this series every Tuesday on their blog... starting today!

I would so love it if you would pop over there to see the newest matchup and say hello to me in my new weekly 'home'. And, since I promised many more of these looks from the Resort collections... how about a little Balenciaga?

You better believe I want that bag for the beach! But don't you love how just a touch of deep blue can totally transform this modern space from Nuevo Estilo? Just another reason to stick to netural palettes - when you're sick of the blue, switching out the rug is easy!

Rooms From The Runway: 3.1 Phillip Lim + Nuevo Estilo

I've been away from my Rooms From The Runway series for a bit, but have been SO inspired by the 2010 Resort Collections, so you can expect to see more where this came from!
I loved the softness of Phillip Lim's collection, and saw it very much translated into this living room via Nuevo Estilo. The peachy tones, white space, a bit of grey... the only addition to this room are the dark charcoal and black accents which I don't mind... I think they provide a bit of an anchor to the space, but I might love it more if those coffee tables were a white lacquer!

Rooms From The Runway: Dell'Acqua + Earthy Modern

I loved Allesandro Dell'Acqua's neutral, earthy palette for his Spring 2009 RTW collection where textured knits met dreamy dresses and metallic fringes.

This look reminded me a bit of this room (via elle decor, i'm almost certain) where organic shapes meet mid-century modern pieces, with texture added by the vintage tones in the rug. And just because it's such fab eye candy...

More from the collection. That big feathery poof is just too awesome.

Not Your Sister's Seafoam

Forget the horror stories of seafoam green bridesmaid dresses. This color is back in a whole new way. When paired with the popular neutrals of this season, seafoam becomes soothing and simple...

Rooms From The Runway: Peach+Grey

I've been loving this hallway for a while now - I think it's the peachy toned drapes billowing to the floor combined with the grey doors that really got me...

Not surprisingly, it happens to perfectly capture the similar light and breezy, yet sophisticated feeling of one of my favorite runway looks.

Rooms From the Runway: High Contrast

Loving the look of bright white walls contrasted with deep rich wood tones, like these rooms...

The most important piece of this puzzle? A little pop of color - whether it's vibrant blues, pretty pastels, or a rainbow spectrum. It makes a perfect palette for a creative summer ensemble that reminds me of the islands...

Take a white shift dress (James Perse) and add contrasts accordingly! The Jimmy Choos, belt by Oscar de la Renta, and ring by RingsEclectic represent the dark of the wood, while the aqua necklace from Maline Berger and clutch from Mulberry lighten things up, add interest, and bring it all together. Now all I need is a hot summer night...

Under The Sea, Over The Top?

In the process of going through the latest couture shows, I discovered designer Zuhair Murad's collection of gowns dripping with coral, starfish and other ocean-inspired details...

While this dress makes a fabulous entryway, I don't know that I'd have an appropriate occasion to wear it to in my lifetime. I do, however, wonder what you think of the rest of these as 'alternative' wedding dresses...?

An all-white tabletop set with starfish at each place setting would compliment this gown's somewhat subtle, yet sparkly starfish detailing.

This dreamy dress would flow beautifully on a sandy beach with its pale aqua beaded coral weighing down the bottom. An au natural tabletop with a hint of beach glass blue would do perfectly to match.

Or, imagine a more dramatic contrast with a constructed mermaid dress in grey and a modern, elegant beach reception. Who says you can't get fancy in bare feet?

Well, would you do it? I have to say... I just might!

Rooms From the Runway: Changing Seasons

While I love this cozy Pre-Fall runway style from Missoni, I'm quite tired of the winter right now, so I'm translating this look into a summery room instead! (Sorry, I've forgotten the source, so please let me know if you recognize it!) I love the mix of glam (mirrored tables!) with clean lines and natural fabrics in neutrals. And, best of all, I think the space still evokes a cozy image of late evenings spent around the fire. In fact, I think a Missoni throw made from the same fabric of the dress and coat would fit right in!

Oh summer.... are you here yet??? February is going to be a very long month...

Jade + Coral

Yesterday we crowned Miss Pink the Color of the Year, and I selected my own final picks for the 2009 color palette, which included my top picks for some accent colors of the year as well...

While Jade + Coral make excellent compliments to the lighter pinks and greys, they also make an incredibly strong statement together. Add a dose of blue, like the navy in the tablecloth or feathers in her topper, and you've got some serious drama in saturated colors. I hope we see more of this come Fall...

Dark + Jeweled

Wanting to cozy into winter, but avoid the dreary grey, I'm finding myself pulled towards these images where dark corners meet jewel tones and light...
