Last weekend I scheduled a quick meeting with a couple to discuss some layout ideas for their small apartment. So, I'm curious... how many of my NYC readers have experienced Fashion's Night Out? It's one of those events that I can't quite grasp but am totally intrigued by. Insane shopping, access to incredible designers, celebrity appearances and ... well ... a whole lot of hullabaloo. It sounds glamorous and insane all at the same time! So, given the chance to go... NERDING OUT: GLASSES FROM ZENNI OPTICAL

I've worn glasses since high school and have always loved the idea of having a few pairs to switch out depending on my mood, but I've never been able to afford the luxury of indulging in multiple fashionable frames. I wanted to pick a style that I would normally shy away from, and since I already own an everyday pair, I thought I'd go for the current trend of the nerdy-style glasses...

I've tried on similar pairs before and love the thicker style frames, but was worried they would overwhelm my face a bit too much, so... I went with option #3!

 As you can see, the boy joined in on the fun too. He selected this pair for his everyday glasses, and I think they're pretty damn cute on him! (And we're so excited, can't you tell? We had way too much fun practicing our model faces too.)

I was actually expecting my frames to be a bit more Talented Mr. Ripley-esque, but these still work as nice casual style alternative to the ones I already have. And at these prices, I'm seriously considering trying the other two anyway!

Whether we want to believe it or not, fall is slowly creeping in on us. Every year I also try to add some more classic jewelry to the mix - especially for the holiday season! Each of these pieces would add so much to a little black dress, and I love that the brooch and bracelet both incorporate a hint of plum and mauve - two colors that are sure to be hot for fall.
