COCO+KELLEY SPONSOR: CAMEO NOUVEAU

We have some pretty fantastic sponsors around here, but I'm really loving the selections at current sponsor Cameo Nouveau's pretty little shop...
cameo nouveau shop
The selections include both new and vintage, and are perfectly procured so you're not sifting through tons of product. The pillow is the perfect summer accent for a bit of playful color - I'm kinda wanting it for my currently all-white bed.  Jewelry from Vanessa Mooney and Trina Turk? Also a must! Heck, every little thing here is on my wishlist. But don't take my word for it - go check out their shop for yourself!

LOVE NOTES

Ok, yes, I slightly despise Valentine's Day as much as the next cynic but, I have to say that if more unique gifts were involved than chocolate + roses, I might be inclined to get a little more excited... something with a little 'bang' perhaps?
il_570xN.203906044
Or a message that's just about as straightforward as it gets... I enjoy refreshing honesty, after all...

But, perhaps the best two little words a girl could hear to make her heart flutter?

NYIGF 2011: Ox Bow Decor

There are a lot of pillows at the NYIGF but one booth that made me stop for a closer look was Ox Bow Decor.  I really loved their pillows printed with architectural facades. All of their products are made in Massachusetts and they couldn't have been nicer which is always important.  Definitely check them out.

NYIGF 2011: Jonathan Adler

Since the Jonathan Adler booth is the first one I visit at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), I always like to start with the creative, colorful, and cheeky designer. Each year, I wonder what he will come up with next and of course he never disappoints.  I especially love table and pillow designs but the cutest piece has to be the mustache topped cork screw.  Very cheeky indeed!

OMBRE + BRAIDS

A few years ago the ombre trend came and went, quickly saturating the market and then, poof! We were over it! While I have to admit I haven't always been the biggest fan of the look myself, there are two places I still absolutely adore it...
blue ombre trend coco+kelley1
apricot ombre trend coco+kelley1
*1. In layers of textured ruffles. *2.  In soft organic pillows. You just can't go wrong. Also noting and loving the side braid styling throughout the Lela Rose show... yes please!

GLOBAL STYLE: OTOMI IN EVERY COLOR

Yellow's the new neutral, but red is a classic, and I'm always partial to royal blue. Can't decide which otomi fabric you like best? Cristina from Fuji Files here with an inspiring solution for that dire case of indecision.

You can have it all! In small doses of course. Add a cushion in each hue to a neutral sofa for some extraordinary seating. I know my beige Ikea couch would benefit from some otomi love!

They also add a playful pop of joy to even the most sophisticated setting. As the (shopaholic) saying goes, if the shoe fits buy one in every color!

Cushions available at Jacaranda Home and Ruby Plaza. Custom shades by Black & Spiro.

I LOVE...

Everything about this pillow for fall...

The colors. The pattern. The price. In fact, I love it so much that I included it in my must-haves list for Sloane Magazine, and I've been having to stop myself from sharing it until the article was up! Have you checked it out yet?

SNEAK PEEK: HAMMOCKS & HIGH TEA LAUNCH PILLOW LINE!

The last time I posted on Hammocks & High Tea, I mentioned how much fun a pillow line would be and they let me know that (shhhhh) they were working on one, and promised to send me the fall line as soon as it was ready. Well, guess what? They're ready!
hammocks&highteafall1
With new colors in some of my favorite patterns for fall, I'm already loving the collection. I'm also promising myself that the second we move into our new place (yes, still apartment hunting!) I will be purchasing their drawer liners, sachets and linen sprays to get everything smelling fresh and clean! (pssst, i think the blue chevron pattern is still my favorite!)

Don't you love little indulgences? And speaking of which, we can't forget their sweet tea towels that add a bit of spunk to the table or kitchen!

The line will officially launch on August 16th, so mark your calendar and get shopping!

PRETTY+PUNK PILLOWS

Loving these pillows from Kreme with their contrasting mix of traditional trims and badass studding...
Yes, please, and thank you! They would make for some seriously sexy sofa accents.

A FEW OF MY (SPRING) FAVORITE THINGS...

So so so in love with this combination of beautiful goods for the home in a perfect blend of warm and cool neutrals... with a pop of green of course.
The magnolia rug by Vivienne Westwood for the Rug Company has been a long-time favorite, but I love the idea of pairing it with a strong, masculine window pane pattern pillow in preppy navy and cream. To tie it all together? A gorgeous barely-there blue glass pendant to add a light feminine touch in a beautiful shape.

NYIGF Report: Pillows on Parade

I toured the New York International Gift Fair on Sunday with my friend and fellow designer Kevin Isbell as well as my friend Kelly Reynolds from Hello Robertson and Carleton V. We joked that looking for really interesting and unique items was like looking for a needle in a haystack but one booth that made us stop dead in our tracks was Julian Mejia Design. His Liberty print pillows above are so beautiful yet simple that I wonder why I've never seen them before! I've always loved Libery and I actually owned a dress from J.Crew many years ago that was made from the same yellow and aqua sunflower print on one of the pillows above! He also designs lovely placemats and napkins too. Definitely check him out!

I wish I had taken more photos of pretty pillows at Dransfield & Ross but this silk pillow above gives you an idea of their beautiful designs! Pillows are always a great way to change the design of a room without spending a lot of money.

Oomph was the big hit at the NYIGF in August and they are back this time with some new table designs and colors but their pillows also have a lot of oomph.

The Oomph pillows come in many great colors, patterns and styles including the fun lobster print.

The Design Legacy booth was huge and full of fun finds but I really liked their botanical print pillows and chair.

If none of those pillows float your boat, you can always check out the embroidered styles over at Jonathan Adler. Funny how all of the sudden I feel ready for nap!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR...

I know I'm a little ahead of myself with this post, but for the first time in years I'm actually excited for Valentines Day. Not because of the holiday (it makes me cringe), but because it will be the one-year anniversary of my first date with the boy! So, needless to say, I'm actually looking forward to celebrating...
Combining my love for these spring trend colors (from pantone) and a peach+red Valentine's day combo, I'd love to start the evening in a fabulous dress, and end up in those adorable and comfy ruffle cami and shorts. Preferably with some love notes, jewelry, and pillow talk in between! So, thank you for indulging my slight twitterpation with this usually despised holiday this year my dears... it will be special one for me!

TWINSIES

Of all the chic little guest or children's rooms I've seen... this has to be one of the best!

So funky and fun! Minus the totally 80's benches at the end of the beds (sorry, not my style!), but I die for combination of the rug with the ikat bedding and those mongolian lambswool pillows... which I just so happen to have a pair of in my Etsy shop! You can also get them here for double the price.

Are you having out of town visitors for the holidays? I'm curious how many of you would do up your guest room like this! Ours doubles as my office, so it's hardly this chic, but still pretty fun...

Pillow Fetish

Hello, my name is Cassandra and I'm a pillow addict.
So, naturally, I just 'happened' to discover be.still on etsy - a shop full of fantastically perfect pillow covers. The hard part will be choosing which ones will be perfect in my new home...

The Need For Tweed

I love tweed. Well, not real tweed (I mean, unless it's Chanel...) but more like the idea of the tweed-like pattern as expressed in the following pieces...
So so summery, yes?? YES! Love the blue. Love the sunglasses (have no idea where they're from, so don't even ask because they're probably vintage!). But the skirt and top are both Lina Rennell and very available.
Still in love with these pillows from Henry Road that I've been coveting for years now. Perhaps they will be a purchase for the new condo?
A skirt to wear into early fall for sure... this one is from Urban.
